TogoSat-1 The Why

Togolese first satellite project and part of the African Constellation Satellite project: AFCONSAT. The African Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (AGIA) is taking this unique opportunity to put Togo on the map of the few African space-faring nations by building a satellite Ground Station, design and launch Togo’s first satellite into space.

TogoSat-1 The Mission

The TogoSat-1 has an assigned mission for agriculture and environmental monitoring. It is the manifestation of the will of the African Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (AGIA) to participate in Togo’s agriculture development strategy which aims to harness technology. This is also the manifestation of our will to help strengthen Togo’s disaster response and address environmental issues and climate change impact on natural resources and vulnerability.

All Nations University And The AFCONSAT

The All Nations University – Space Systems Technology Laboratory (ANU-SSTL) have developed and launched Ghana’s first satellite called GhanaSat-1 into space on June 3, 2017, which carried an Earth Observation mission. Spearheading the African Constellation Satellite project: AFCONSAT, the ANU-SSTL will offer these facilities for capacity building purposes. Institutions from countries which are renowned in engineering are participating and are taking the opportunity to develop the first satellite for their country.
